Hi! I'm Alex (she/her) a 28-year-old crafter from Ontario, Canada. I started penpaling early lockdown last year when I wanted to connect with people from around the world, in a time when not much connecting was happening. I then found the penpal community on Instagram and fell even deeper into the rabbit hole.

Right now I work in health equity for the Federal government. In school I studied journalism and professional writing. I love reading and writing, I'm a bit of a comedy nerd, I love Disney (Alice in Wonderland, Winnie the Pooh, Moana) and Broadway (Beetlejuice, Little Shop of Horror, Death Becomes Her) and crafting of all sorts (mix-media, knitting and crochet, pen paling, art journaling, pottery).

I have a medium-sized white poodle mix named Lola, a tri-colour border collie named Creek and a smushy-faced black cat named Marty. (I love anything that looks like any of them.)

I love crafting in all sorts of themes and styles but mostly enjoy bright colours, followed by pastels. I like most colours and it really depends on the day which is my favourite! Right now I’ve been really into a light blue-y purple colour and if people ask I usually say pink is my favourite colour.

Some crafting materials I would extra appreciate to receive would be: doilies, book (words, music, pictures) papers, letter stickers, deco stickers, ephemera.

Some general themes I enjoy to craft with: Magical/faeries/witches, bugs (Beatles, ants, caterpillars), books/writing/reading, plants/flowers/nature, eclectic/trinkets/maximalist

Some of my classic faves are: -Taskmaster - The Good Place - How I Met Your Mother (this is the show I'll re-watch over and over) - Dr. Who (the 10th Dr. was my first and therefore fave)

I don't know why but birds kinda freak me out, so if possible please avoid bird themed-items when swapping with me. And nothing religious please.
